History
History in the sidebar records what has changed in your ledger, and keeps what you've deleted until you decide otherwise. It has two tabs.
Audit log
Every change to your transactions, with when it happened: imported, created by hand, edited, deleted, restored, and permanently deleted. Search it, or filter by type, event, or amount. Individual edits are also listed in each transaction's Edit history on the Transactions page.
Trash
Deleted transactions go here rather than disappearing. Each shows its date, description, category, amount, and when it was deleted. Restore puts a transaction back where it was; Delete forever removes it for good. Select several to restore or delete them together. Transactions stay in the trash until you do one or the other.
Notifications
Bankflow tells you about imports in three ways.
- In the app: the notifications panel collects statement and email activity, such as a statement that finished processing, an email waiting in your inbox, or a statement whose currency needs choosing. Some notifications carry the action they need, such as Select currency. Filter to unread, mark everything as read, or clear the list.
- In your browser: turn on Browser import alerts and your system shows a notification when a statement arrives or finishes, even while you're working in another tab. You can turn it on from Settings, or when you upload with Notify when ready.
- By email: turn on Import confirmation emails in Settings for an email each time a forwarded statement has been processed.
Getting Started Checklist
New accounts have a Get started checklist in the sidebar with three steps: process a statement or receipt, categorize a transaction, and export your results. Each step ticks itself off when you actually do it, and each links to the place it's done. Your progress is saved to your account, so it carries across devices. Collapse or dismiss the checklist once you don't need it.
Not ready to upload your own statements? On the empty dashboard, choose Explore with sample data to load two months of demo transactions. Every page has something in it, and a banner removes the demo in one click when you're done.
Reporting a Problem
- Something wrong with a statement: choose Report a problem from the statement's menu on the Statements page, and pick what went wrong: missing transactions, wrong balances, duplicates, wrong categories, misread text, or an unsupported format. It goes straight to our team.
- A statement came back empty: use Report on it in the Imports tab. If we missed transactions, the credits are refunded.
- Anything else: choose Report a bug at the bottom of the sidebar. Describe what happened, where, and how badly it blocks you, and add screenshots (up to 5 MB each). Your reports are listed on the same page, where you can follow each one from open to resolved.
